Study: Caffeine, Xanax Found In ‘Pure’ Blood Samples Used For Transfusions
There’s no denying it: Americans love their caffeine. Whether you’re a coffee lover, tea aficionado, soda supporter, or just a big fan of chocolate, chances are you’re consuming at least a little bit of caffeine each day. In fact, it’s estimated that roughly 80% of U.S. adults enjoy a dose of caffeine on a daily basis. Now, new research finds that caffeine consumption is so widespread, it was detected in 100% of supposedly pure analyzed blood samples provided by blood banks.

These blood samples would normally be used in hospitals all over the U.S. for transfusions, meaning there is a potentially high likelihood that countless patients are being given blood that isn’t as pure as they are being led to believe. Furthermore, traces of alprazolam, better known as the anti-anxiety prescription drug Xanax, and cough medicine, were also discovered in a significant portion of analyzed blood bank samples.

As millions of holiday travelers head back home over the weekend, rain and snow will sweep through the Midwest on Saturday then push into the Northeast on Sunday into Monday, CNN meteorologist Haley Brink said.

UN: The world has backed itself into a treacherous corner on climate change
The world is further off course than ever from meeting the goals of the Paris climate agreement and averting climate catastrophe as the divide between countries’ pledges and actions continues to grow. ...

Now global emissions have to fall by 7.6 percent a year between 2020 and 2030. But according to the new gap report, the current trajectory puts the world’s emissions to overshoot the 2030 target for 1.5 degrees Celsius by 38 percent. The current pace of emissions would lead to as much as 3.2 degrees Celsius (5.7 degrees Fahrenheit) of warming by 2100. This would be a world where millions more people would have to abandon coastal areas due to rising sea levels and vastly more dangerous periods of extreme heat.

Police Hilariously Ask for 'Thoughts and Prayers' After Responding to Spilled Krispy Kreme Delivery
"The response time was stellar, but we couldn’t beat the 5 second rule," the Brookhaven Police Department in Georgia shared on Facebook Tuesday.

The Brookhaven police department responded to a call shortly after 7:30 a.m., arriving on the scene to what authorities are calling “total carnage.”

What responding officers found on arrival is every officer’s worst nightmare — dozens of glazed Krispy Kreme donuts, scattered neglectfully across the ground.
