SMAFaq is an expat and immigrant English language resource and community for San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Our first "real" post was How to unlock your U.S. AT&T cell phone on June 23, 2018.

This site exists to provide useful and timely information in an easy to use format. The source of much of the information will be, I hope, other members of this community.

Try clicking around. In the desktop version try the links on the left and in the menu bar at the top. Try Members and You (if you are logged in) in the menu bar above. In the mobile version try the options on the menu at the top left (3 horizontal lines; aka Hamburger menu) and the one at the top right (3 stacked dots) in the menu bar.

Try out both the All Discussions view and the Categories view to see the two primary ways of navigating this site. To find something specific, if the Category view is not specific enough, try a Search (search bar at top on desktop; an option under top left menu on mobile) and the Advanced Search options.

Have a question relating to San Miguel or this site? Find an existing discussion or Start a New Discussion and ask.

Want to Start a New Discussion but not sure what category it should be in? Don't worry about it! Just pick one you think is relevant or General Discussion is always good. It's not critical.
