Is there a way to get a legally valid California or just US notarization here in SMA? I know that the US Consulate can do it, but they are expensive ($50 per signature) and seem to be unavailable until late March.

My understanding is that the only option for an in person U.S. Notary is the consulate.

You might check with the other party in your transaction to see if a virtual notary would be acceptable.

Also, I have seen statements from Ángel Marín Díaz of Inmtec to the effect that they can provide a service that may be acceptable to the other party. I don't fully understand what he is referring to, or the cost and I may be confused but it may be worth checking out.

The consulate was less expensive than others in town when we had one signed in late November.

Go to ... Notarize.com ..... They are accepted virtually by all the U.S. States for legal notary authentications. Done virtually on your computer, and even scanning documents if need be. For 25 bucks.
