Texas native MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY is one of Hollywood’s most sought-after leading men. He won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ron Woodruff in Dallas Buyers Club, and has appeared in over 40 feature films. He is also a producer, director, and philanthropist with his Just Keep Livin’ Foundation – all the while sticking to his Texas roots and “just keep livin” philosophy.

McConaughey’s wildly popular new memoir, Greenlights, hit the NYTimes bestseller list at #1 and has already sold more than a million copies. Virtually all of the 32,000+ Amazon reader reviews are 5-star. Greenlights is an unconventional memoir filled with raucous stories, outlaw wisdom, and lessons learned the hard way about living with greater satisfaction.

Reviewers have called it “unflinchingly honest and remarkably candid. . . a love letter to life . . . a guide to catching more green lights — and to realizing that the yellows and reds eventually turn green too.”

Author Lawrence Wright says, “McConaughey is a genius at living. He attacks life with an exhilarating ferocity. This is a wildly unexpected and delightful book you can’t just read, you have to experience.”

McConaughey lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Camilla and their three kids, and is a professor in the film department at the University of Texas in Austin.

His interviewer is equally talented and just as loveable a personality. Called “a natural raconteur” by the Washington Post, JAMIE BRICKHOUSE is an award-winning writer and comedic storyteller. He’s the author of the critically acclaimed Dangerous When Wet: A Memoir of Booze Sex, and My Mother (St. Martin’s Press, 2015), which was an Amazon “Best Book of May 2015,” a Book Chase “2015 Nonfiction Top 10,” and is “required reading” in Mary Karr’s The Art of Memoir. It received stellar reviews from Vanity Fair, Entertainment Weekly, and the Washington Post, to name a few.

Brickhouse’s essays and articles have been published multiple times in the New York Times, as well as the International Herald Tribune, Washington Post, Daily Beast, Salon, and Huffington Post. He has recorded voices on Beavis and Butthead, appeared on PBS-TV’s Stories from the Stage, and NPR’s The Moth Podcast.

He tours two award-winning solo shows, Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother, which he performed at San Miguel’s Shelter Theater to sold-out audiences, and I Favor My Daddy. As a writing workshop teacher and storyteller, Brickhouse is a veteran of the San Miguel Writers’ Conference.

He grew up in Beaumont, Texas, graduated from Trinity University and lives with his husband Michael in New York City where he is founder and CEO of redBrick Agency, a lecture bureau for authors.
