Vaccination will continue in metropolitan areas of importance due to the number and population mobility.
In recent days, vaccination started in capital cities and will continue in metropolitan areas of importance due to the number and population mobility that are not capital cities, such as Acapulco, Guerrero; and Tijuana, Baja California, announced the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez.

At the head of the press conference on the current situation of the pandemic, he reported that until this day and since last December 24, nine million 287 thousand 405 doses of vaccines from different pharmaceutical companies have been applied.

Until the cut-off of 4:00 p.m. today, six percent of the population and practically half of the total elderly people living in the country have at least one dose, he explained.

When the immunization of this sector is concluded, he said, the plan will advance to the vaccination phase in people from 50 to 59 years old, and later to that of 40 to 49. He stressed that vaccination is not linked to any political or partisan activity; it is a free and universal program.

He explained that an average of four days elapse from the moment the vaccines arrive in the country until they are available at the vaccination post.
