“Something Like a Star” -- UUFSMA Online Sunday Service Jan 3.
This Sunday the UU Fellowship of San Miguel de Allende will conclude its six-week series of online services devoted to "The Season of Light" with a celebration of the Epiphany. Known as “Three Kings Day” in Mexico, the Epiphany celebrates the arrival of the Magi to present gifts to Jesus, the Newborn King of St. Matthew’s testament.

Red Traffic Light Starts in GTO State Dec 25.
Due to the increase in infections and fatality from COVID 19 in Guanajuato, this health measure will be from December 25, 2020 to January 10, 2021.
Economic activities are reduced from 50% to 30% of capacity; they will close canteens, nightclubs, clubs, bar areas in restaurants and bar areas in hotels .
Guanajuato, Gto. December 24, 2020.- Due to the upward trend in the number of infections, hospitalization and deaths from COVID-19, Guanajuato returns to Red at the State Reactivation Traffic Light from December 25, 2020 until December 10 January 2021.

The Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Díaz Martínez, announced this sanitary measure that was agreed in the State Health Safety Committee, given the alert situation due to the spread of the virus in Guanajuato and in the country.

"We do it by virtue of the increase in the trend of hospitalization, mortality, by the percentage of positivity of the virus in the sampling, this is an absolutely necessary action to stop the chain of infections in the state."

“We call on the population in general and young people in particular, to wear face masks, to stay at home, to respect a healthy distance and basic security measures; We ask you not to hold meetings. Today more than ever we need the effort of each one of us, if we all take care of ourselves, we will get ahead sooner, ”he said.

WORKSHOP: PANDEMIC BE DARNED—LET’S WRITE! Wednesdays Jan 6-27.
Signe Hammer has taught writing workshops for 40 years, including the 2019 and 2020 San Miguel Writers Conference and 12 years as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Creative Writing at New York University, where she received an Award for Teaching Excellence. She has been an editor at both a major book publisher and a national magazine. She has published four nonfiction books, along with short stories, poetry, reviews and many national-magazine feature articles. Her memoir was selected as a New York Times Book Review Notable Book.

Based on reader reports, Avenida Independencia is currently completely closed to traffic from about Avenida Guadalupe up the hill to about the elementary school or Calle Ignacio Cruces. The specifics as to which sections are open or closed may change as the project progresses but it appears that portions of Avenida Independencia will be closed "for months."

Calle Garita section closed through December.
From tomorrow, October 29 to the end of December, the circulation of calle Garita from Salida Real to Querétaro to De la Barranca is closed, due to pavement construction.
